Much of art is about juxtaposition. That’s why I like the little 5×5″ portraits that I do. They’re small enough to hang anywhere. By the way, isn’t that a rad shade of green on that frame? Anyway, I like the idea of one of your most precious possessions (a portrait of your child or other loved one) being hung in an unexpected place, like the bulletin board. The juxtaposition of ‘what this old thing?’ with the loving treatment of putting it in a frame, can make you smile every time you see it. Not that you wouldn’t smile anyway.
